Do Not Adjust Your Set volume 2

Innovative and influential, and originally envisaged as children’s show, Do Not Adjust Your Set was a madcap early-evening comedy sketch show that quickly acquired a cult following with Swinging Sixties adults, who rushed home from work to see it. Written by and starring Michael Palin, Terry Jones, Eric Idle, with great performances and additional material by David Jason and Denise Coffey, it also provided an early showcase for the hilarious animations of Terry Gilliam, and the brilliantly bizarre musical antics of the legendary Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band. The series hits full flow with the compilation of the firth, sixth ninth and tenth episodes (the others are lost), with highlights that include a beautifully crafted ‘How to Eat’ sketch, an utterly bewildering ‘Miss World’ song, and Captain Fantastic facing a giant robot and a spot of teapot‑snatching in Surrey. And in episode nine, Tim Brooke-Taylor is borrowed from At Last the 1948 Show (also available on BFI Player British Classics) to fill in for Michael Palin while he had his appendix removed.
