Although darker in tone than either Show Me Love or Together, director Lukas Moodysson’s third feature once again displayed his ability to see things from the point of view of his young protagonists, and to draw courageous performances from his youthful actors. Winner of numerous festival prizes, the film also established Moodysson as one of the most significant European voices of the 2000s.
