Kelly Macdonald (Trainspotting) stars as a Scottish teenager working as a prostitute in London and her efforts to free herself from the clutches of her oily, paternalistic pimp. She escapes to Glasgow with her friend, a small-time hustler, and tries to deal with her abusive past.
